Inspiring Conversations with Danielle Linn of Dogslanding Play & Train

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Linn.

Hi Danielle, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Reigning from the Southern California desert as a part-time model and a full-time canine enthusiast, I found myself settling just South of Austin in Cedar Creek where I am making my childhood dreams a reality. As a kid, I was obsessed with Cesar Milan, Steve Irwin, Jeff Corbin – all the true animal kings. After a tumultuous relationship with the desert, I told myself one day soon I would be caring for dogs in a way almost no one could. That thought carried me down the road of behavior modification and led to me to be certified in relationship & psychology-based methods. Not only have I learned that dogs are just as misunderstood as I am, but I’ve developed a unique understanding of them that helped me build Dogslanding Play & Train. I do occasionally model still. I love getting behind the camera, styling a cute outfit, and finding a fun place to run around the city. When working with dogs, it’s nice to have little getaways. I’ve distanced myself from the Austin modeling industry as it’s gotten a bit out of hand but I’ll never stop finding cool people to create cool s**t with!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I don’t think smooth roads exist in life. Our journeys will always be accompanied by bumps, holes, twists, and turns. So no. It has not been easy. I am a recovering addict, I’ve experienced heavy traumas and have almost lost my mind along the way. Working with dogs under my own authority has brought back my peace of mind. I have worked for many local boarding/training facilities that broke my heart. Unfortunately, learning everything you should not do with our beloved canines.

As you know, we’re big fans of Dogslanding Play & Train. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
When I started Dogslanding Play & Train, I made a promise that the business would never take away from the unique care that I can give. I strongly believe my experience with life and everything it brings has made me even more compassionate. Something I hope to never lose. I am proud to say that we have created an unparalleled, home-styled boarding and training facility for mans best friend. We care for many special dogs that belong to some of the most dedicated pet owners you’ll ever meet. We specialize in relationship & psychology-based methods. When your pup gets the privilege of staying with us they get to enjoy the simple life of being a dog. We don’t leave your dog screaming in crate or running around over-stimulated for 6+ hours of the day. With Ample acclimation periods, doggy massages, CBD, and clinically proven classical music playing- we provide the works for your fur baby! Some cool things we offer: 2.5 acres of fun to enjoy, 1 mile running track, breed specific exercises, enrichment toys for downtime, basic training and behavior modification. Some cool things we will be offering 2023: dock diving pond, sheep herding program, and other sporting dog activities/events. We are a small batch facility at the moment, so we fill up fast. Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Dog training in general is about to become just as muddy as politics. You must find people (in any industry) that fit your values. It’s hard to say what changes will come. What is important is that we don’t lose sight of what has ALWAYS worked. Building and strengthening relationships -with your dog and every other living thing.
