Inspiring Conversations with Emily Weaver of HER THE LABEL

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Weaver.

Hi Emily, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in a small farm town in central Pennsylvania. From a young age I dreamt of being a designer and going to fashion capitals like New York and Paris. I started my career at a creative studio in my hometown which led me to a styling position in NYC. I moved in less than a month at 19 when I got the offer and evolved my career into marketing, eventually starting my own agency. My first business taught me a lot but ultimately my heart called me back to my love of designing and dressing women.

I moved to Australia in 2020 and then the world unexpectedly shut down. During that year when life slowed, I began researching different ways to make clothing more sustainably and discovered a circular technique without needing to cut and sew. It was a futuristic way to eliminate textile waste that has become an epidemic for the fashion industry. From there, I partnered with a multigenerational wool mill in northern Italy to bring the most beautiful quality and feel into the design. The concept became clear as development unfolded — marry Japanese innovation with Italian heritage.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not, but one key aspect is that I am tirelessly in love with what I do. I did not feel that way about my marketing agency and ultimately didn’t have the energy to keep it going.

One of the toughest parts of running a clothing line is cash flow — funding production for inventory upfront and slowly making back what you spent over the months to years ahead. If you’re in the fast fashion business, you can use cheap materials, rush production and then discount the product to clear inventory and repeat. For a slow fashion brand, we invest in quality materials and production and they hold their value beyond trends and seasons. It’s important to me as a founder to maintain that integrity despite the pressure to push out new collections and always have something ‘new’.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
HER THE LABEL is a capsule approach to dressing — timeless silhouettes in luxurious, renewable fabrics that transcend climates, occasions, and seasons.

Our collection is designed to eliminate decision fatigue and excess, empowering women to invest in fewer, better pieces that feel as good as they look.

From an early morning flight to a candlelit dinner — inviting ease, movement, and quiet confidence.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Having a vision of my own unique path, not based on any external expectations, purely my soul’s architecture, and creating a plan to carry it out. I think that’s what purpose is — waking up with clarity on what you truly desire and taking small repeatable actions that get you closer every day.
