Today we’d like to introduce you to Krystal Kelly.
Hi Krystal, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am an equestrian adventuress, FEI II certified Show Jumping Coach and world traveler on a mission to empower women around the world to travel on horseback. I’ve worked with horses in 20+ countries on five different continents for the past 15 years. I often found myself working in male-dominated countries such as India, Egypt, Romania and more and that is why I wanted to inspire and encourage women around the world to travel and connect with different cultures. Horses give us the chance to see places and meet people in a remote environment, not as a tourist but as a local. There’s no better way to be an ambassador than on horseback!
I started my business in 2019 as a blog, podcast, and YouTube channel. We now have an amazon prime series, and our films have won awards in the 2020 Equus Film Festival as well as been featured on the Equus Film Channel. We also have a book series which features true stories of women who travel on horseback overcoming various obstacles and challenges along the way.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I originally didn’t design Equestrian Adventuresses to be a business. I worked full time as a riding trainer, coach and rider for various high-level competition stables. Although I was managing large expensive yards with staff working under me in countries where women aren’t typically in charge, I had no clue how to start my own business. So when I first started the community, it was born out of passion. But the more I realized how much the tribe was inspiring women to step outside their comfort zone, the more I realized the mission was bigger than me. That is why we expanded quickly from a blog to a podcast show, a YouTube channel, a film series and book series. To provide as much information, inspiring stories, tips, resources and help as possible for the community. It was not an easy road and I learned very quickly. I couldn’t do it alone but luckily, I had access to a lot of fellow adventuresses who were able to help me on this journey.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Equestrian Adventuresses is a tribe of women who love horses, travel and adventure. We specialize in providing resources, inspiration and information on how anyone can travel the world on horseback whether it be a long ride on your own horse, a horse riding tour, or working and volunteering abroad with horses.
We have helped thousands of equestrians around the world follow their dreams, make everlasting friendships and finally take the leap into the world of possibilities! There is no place we dare not explore on horseback and our members come from all backgrounds, disciplines, experience levels and adventure levels.
Due to our book series available on Amazon, Kobo, Barnes and Noble and more, we’ve helped inspire women in countries where horses are not accessible to women. One of our proudest achievements was being able to touch the life of a young Yemeni girl who dreamed of one day riding a horse. She loved the books!
