Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Sole.
Hi Taylor, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I got in to plumbing by happenstance. My roommate at the time was in plumbing, and I needed a job. Little did I know it would become what it did. I fell in love with plumbing, and committed myself to the trade. I worked with a few different companies over these last ten years, learning all aspects of plumbing from residential and commercial services to new construction projects. It had always been a dream of mine to start my own company one day, but it wasn’t something my wife and I were considering any time soon. We had our baby girl in October 2024, and after a few months I realized I wanted to be around more. One of my closest friends had just started his own company, and I saw how much more time he was able to spend with his kids. This really motived me to find an investor and get started. As soon as everything lined up, we launched our own business and Murphy’s Plumbing was born.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As with any new business, there are always challenges. The biggest one in the plumbing industry is always job volume. Any company, big or small, is no stranger to jobs being slow one week and busy the next. We are also very new to the area, so we are working hard to get our name out there and build a strong reputation within our community.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Murphy’s Plumbing is a family-owned small business, specializing in residential and commercial plumbing. We named the company after our family dog, Murphy, because we wanted to include a big part of our family in our business. Each job is an opportunity to get to know someone, and welcome them into our Murphy’s Plumbing family.
We are most proud of our high quality work and fair pricing. I have worked for large companies in the past and am all too familiar with the higher price tags of their services. We always knew Murphy’s would offer transparent, competitive pricing. Plumbing problems are already stressful enough, well before having to navigate paying for that problem. Our business aims to resolve your plumbing problems with as little stress to our customers as possible.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important thing I’ve learned since starting this journey is just how important integrity is. The old adage “treat people how you would want to be treated” is how we approach every job. We have been on the other side, as the customer, and we take that into account with every interaction.
