Inspiring Conversations with Tyler Wade of Chasing Change

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Wade.

Hi Tyler, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
In the winter of 2023, I found myself at a crossroads. I had been the catalyst for the end of my longest relationship, and I was utterly miserable with my career. More than anything, I was dissatisfied with the person I had become. So I started Chasing Change.

At first, it wasn’t a business. It was a personal improvement project. A commitment to becoming someone I actually wanted to be. I decided to get sober for an undetermined amount of time and used the extra time in my life to start learning about fitness. I researched training, nutrition, and body composition and began building a routine around creating the physique I had always admired on Instagram and TikTok.

The discipline I developed in the gym began spilling into the rest of my life. I started taking my career more seriously. I became more intentional about my faith. I began attending an incredible church in San Antonio, where I developed a deeper understanding of what it meant to live like Christ.

I pursued a new position in my career and eventually moved to Austin, believing that a new environment would give me the opportunity to keep becoming the person I wanted to be.

Over the following years, I kept pushing myself into areas of life that once felt out of reach. I finished my first full length novel. I ran my first marathon in February 2025. That summer, I took on my first coaching clients. By December, Chasing Change had become an official LLC.

What began as a desperate attempt to change myself became something much bigger. Since taking Chasing Change public, I’ve helped more than 50 gay and queer adjacent men pursue meaningful change across six core areas of life: Body, Art, Mind, Soul, Career, and Life.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Some of the hardest struggles for me have been social media, not having a blueprint, and self-doubt.

Social media can be a blessing and a beast. Having to create constantly can put a drain on someone, especially when content underperforms for an extended amount of time. With the anonymity of online, you can also receive a lot of nasty comments from strangers that makes you questions your voice and ability.

Starting your own life coaching business can be difficult when you’ve been following the “blueprints” of the American education and corporate systems for your entire life. Overtime, I had to learn that life was not linear and if there is not a set path, you must create it from scratch. Just because there isn’t a blueprint, doesn’t mean you can’t make one for yourself.

Between comments online, dips in clients, and the challenges that come with providing excellent service as an imperfect person to imperfect people, the self-doubt can become loud and persistent. The self-doubt comes in waves. Somedays, you are on top of the world. Others, you find yourself in the deepest valleys. I have had to learn that with every valley comes an eventual peak and that the feeling is always temporary, no matter how long it may last.

We’ve been impressed with Chasing Change, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Chasing Change is a self improvement brand that specializes in helping gay/queer identifying men. As a life coach, I primarily help clients first improve their identity and habits surrounding their body or vices. My holistic approach to all six core areas of a person’s life (Body, Art, Mind, Soul, Career, Life) sets me apart from other online fitness coaches or personal trainers. I believe and often remind clients that all the cores work in tandem with one another. As clients begin to build sustainable habits with their bodies, we begin to work through the other five core areas.

I am most proud of the comments my clients give me | At some point during service or graduation, I’ve had clients tell me how much their life has changed for the better since working with me— which is really my ultimate goal: to show people there is a better way to live and teach them how to chase after it.

I would love readers to know that even if they cannot take on 1:1 coaching due to schedule or affordability, they have the ability within themselves to make a different choice every day.

What’s next?
As Chasing Change grows, I plan to build a team of coaches who can bring the philosophy to different audiences, experiences, and areas of expertise. The goal isn’t simply to build a larger coaching business. It’s to create a platform that gives more people the tools and support to deliberately build better lives.

I’m not exempt from the process of Chasing Change. I intend to move to New York City and pursue my own Art Core—having my plays and screenplays produced and continuing to develop as a writer and artist. Chasing Change should never become a philosophy I teach from a pedestal. I want to remain its first and last client: constantly learning, failing, adapting, and changing alongside the people I work with.
