Jason Frank shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Jason , it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
For most regular jobs , Absolutely not. I think you can tell within a couple minutes of talking to me that I am not capable of caring about whatever it is that seems important at that moment for any particular task at any particular job. I’d rather be fired
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hey there, I have a DJ project called Supply Dealer. I produce and play house and techno music. I’m partnered up with my wife who also Djs house and techno. She goes by DJ Purèz. You can catch us around Austin and Texas spinning music that we love and hope others connect with.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
The world told me I needed to be a hero. But I decided that I wanted to be a villain. Unfortunately, I am a little bit too nice and considerate to do evil deeds. So I am stuck on a conflicting stance of…. do I sabotage everybody’s day or should I say hey what can I help you with?
Do you remember a time someone truly listened to you?
Ah , Yes … you guys doing this interview. Took the time to listen to me. Thank you.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Absolutely, it’s important to be genuine. It makes life so much less stressful
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yeah. That’s basically what the majority of artists endure. In the long run, I have to do it for myself regardless of recognition
