We’re looking forward to introducing you to Abby Diggs. Check out our conversation below.
Abby, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Outside of work, my greatest joy has been embracing the new rhythms of family life. With my children beginning new schedules and activities, there’s a renewed sense of structure and purpose in our days. I love being present for their milestones and watching them grow into their individuality, while also finding balance in our routines together. Even the busiest moments…whether navigating school drop-offs, managing a NFL life, or just taking walks around our neighborhood, have become meaningful reminders of what matters most.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Abby Diggs, founder of Copper + Mane Salons, a modern salon suites brand designed to give beauty professionals the freedom to run their own businesses in a luxury environment. What sets Copper + Mane apart is our attention to detail — from thoughtfully designed suites with natural light and high-end finishes, to creating a community where stylists feel supported and empowered as entrepreneurs. Our mission is to elevate the salon suite experience beyond just four walls, offering both functionality and style so professionals can focus on what they do best: serving their clients. Currently, I’m focused on expanding Copper + Mane into new locations, continuing to build a brand that redefines independence in the beauty industry.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
The biggest lessons I’ve learned about work have come from my family. My dad was my first example of hard work, he always emphasized that nothing is given, and you should never be dependent on anyone else for your success. That mindset shaped my drive as a business owner and taught me the value of earning everything I have. My husband has also shown me the importance of discipline and consistency, and watching his career reminds me that success is built day by day. And my children inspire me constantly—they’ve taught me patience, flexibility, and the importance of finding joy in the process, not just the outcome. All of these lessons influence how I lead Copper + Mane and the way I support others in creating their own paths.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self to trust the process and remember that God’s plan will always prevail. Even when things don’t unfold the way you imagined, every challenge and every setback is part of a bigger picture designed for your good. You don’t have to rush or have it all figured out, just keep showing up, keep working hard, and give yourself grace along the way. In time, you’ll see that His timing is always perfect.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that what matters most to me is faith, family, and creating a life with purpose. They know how deeply I value being present for my husband and children, and how much pride I take in building something meaningful through my business. They’d probably also say I care about lifting others up, whether that’s empowering beauty professionals through Copper + Mane or simply being a friend who shows up. At the heart of it all, I want to make sure the people I love and the community I serve feel supported, valued, and inspired.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people will say that I loved my family wholeheartedly—that I was a devoted wife and mom who always put my husband and children first. That my kids felt endlessly supported, cherished, and inspired by the way I lived my life. I want to be remembered for having a generous spirit, for giving more than I took, and for using what I had to bless others. At the end of the day, the story I hope people tell is that I loved deeply, gave freely, and built a life that reflected faith, gratitude, and family.
