Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Hector Longoria Jr.

We recently had the chance to connect with Hector Longoria Jr. and have shared our conversation below.

Hector, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day look like your South Texas September weather, fresh and alert. It’s easy to get lost within my first 90 minutes of my day only because of how close I am with God. Observing. Listening. Learning, but yes, 4:55 – 5:00 am alarm goes off. I normally kick my day off with a restroom break followed by washing up. Shortly after, I tiptoe through the room grab my gear and head outside. Self reflection is extremely important, and I recommend making the time and effort, balance is the reward. I may be in this state for about 47 minutes. Prayer then inspires the body to activate leading into a deep and thorough stretching session. When the body is primed I quickly test the limits. The goal is to always shock the body and strengthen the mental game. So, the question is, what do the first 90 minutes of your day look like? It looks like a chance at writing a story.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Name’s Hector and I’m a singer/songwriter. NDGO, pronounced indigo, has been my main focus since 2018 and building it with some of the most talented and coolest people in the music industry has been a privilege in its own. What makes it interesting is the style. The attitude. The unexpected. It’s for ever changing. There isn’t much I want anyone taking from me personally but lock into the music. Give them a listen. Each song is different and unique, they tell our stories. NDGO stories. We recently released DYNO our debut EP and by far has been life altering. The record has this way of connecting with ones higher self. If you find yourself interested in chatting about the lyrics and meaning behind the songs, email us at nd.gobandus@gmail.com. Healthy discussions via email is a goal of mine. NDGO is taking a small break from live shows at the moment but the vault is never empty and the writing doesn’t stop. Unfortunate events have positioned NDGO into a situation where a new strategy is vital, but nothing we can’t handle. We have the most genuine on our team.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
September 10, 2025 and the days that followed. It’s as if a piece of innocence was stripped from us all. As if we severed yet another cord directly from the divine drawing closer to our own destruction. That is all I have to say at this moment.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to my younger self, it’d have to be I love you.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends know that God and family are what truly matter to me.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Could I give everything my best, even if no one praised me for it? Absolutely! Serving the ego is a thing of the past. Put it this way; if you give everything your best for an employer for minimum wage in hopes for a fifty cent raise and a pat on the back, why not treat yourself in such a manner?
