Hima Bindu shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hima Bindu, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: Who are you learning from right now?
I am learning from my daughter, her friends and my little clients.
Children find happiness in small things, tend to focus on the present, speak and act with their true feelings, teaching us Joy in simple things, Living in the moment and Honesty. They are not afraid to not know and are always open to discover and try new things, without fear of failing and try again if they fail, teaching us perseverance and strength.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I am Hima Bindu. I am a portrait photographer, specialized in Newborn, Maternity, Child and Family portraiture.
I believe photography as an art, is an experience and feeling that creates beautiful memories. As a mom of a three year old and a fur baby, I know how fast babies grow and how priceless memories of their child hood are.
For me, nothing is more magical than a child’s smile, a life growing inside you and the beautiful bond parents share with their children and it is such a privilege to photograph these magical moments, that lasts for a lifetime.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
Becoming a mother changed my outlook on the world
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Trust and love yourself, instead of seeking validation from others or following a path that doesn’t feel right
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
“Expensive cameras and gear guarantees great photos” – In my opinion, they might be beneficial but a skilled photographer can create great photos with older or less expensive equipment
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Are you tap dancing to work? Have you been that level of excited at any point in your career? If so, please tell us about those days.
Every day.. I love my work as a portrait photographer and it is always fulfilling as I turned my passion into a career and having the freedom to set my own schedule. It is always exciting meeting people and making memories for them, that lasts a life time.
