Megan McClain shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Megan, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
I believe all three of these traits are extremely important, however, one trait stands out the most would have to be integrity. Integrity consists of having morals and being honest in all aspects of your life. When a person has integrity, it shows they are trustworthy and represents wholeness. A person can have intelligence and energy but may not be as trustworthy or have morals that are questionable. Integrity is a stronger trait due to it’s meaning setting the direction on how to handle various life tasks.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am the founder of Geaux 360 Photo Booth and an Austin native! I truly enjoy being creative, detail-oriented and providing high energy at all of the bookings for Geaux 360 Photo Booth. I believe Geaux 360 Photo Booth is the necessary service for an interactive experience at different special events. When I am not in school pursuing my degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, I am customizing overlays for the videos, maintaining the website for ease of accessibility and creating social media content. My drive and strong work ethic keeps me focused on the tasks at hand. I am always researching new ways to make Geaux 360 Photo Booth unforgettable by attracting current and new clients.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
The person that taught me the most about work would have to be my mom. She instilled the perseverance and drive in my work ethic since I was younger. She demonstrated that consistency and integrity is what leads to success. She inspired me on how to work with a purpose by being able to balance responsibilities in an efficient manner.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me the only way you can learn from your mistakes is by knowing what to do differently. Life has many chapters and there are some chapters you may have to regroup and evaluate more carefully for a different outcome. I know there is a saying that a person falls down four times and will get up five times. The saying shows how life may throw a curveball and the best course of action is to get up and try again. I can’t let my sufferings define who I am, but more so, how I overcame and learned from my previous trials.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Whose ideas do you rely on most that aren’t your own?
I rely most on my family’s ideas. We’re always brainstorming together — whether it’s for new ideas for Geaux 360 Photo Booth, how to handle challenges, or just talking through big goals. Their input means a lot to me because they know me best, they want to see me win, and they keep it real.
I enjoy bouncing ideas off people I trust. My family gives me perspective, keeps me grounded, and reminds me why I started in the first place.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when my body, mind, and heart are all in sync — like when I’ve just finished a good workout, and I’m surrounded by the people I love. There’s something motivating about moving my body by releasing stress, and then being able to just sit in the moment with family or friends. I feel most like myself when I’m showing up for the people who matter to me. It can be from offering advice, making them laugh, or just being someone they can count on. My peace consists of movement, connection, and love all wrapped into one.
