Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Valentina Quero of Home

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Valentina Quero. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Valentina, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
My work’s been featured in both the print and digital editions of a magazine.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Valentina! I run Flower and Flour, my bakery in Austin where I make colorful, sometimes abstract, buttercream cakes inspired by flowers and art.

I love playing with bold colors and fun designs. I also film weddings with my husband, so creating and telling stories is a big part of my life.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My husband, who always saw my potential before I could see it myself.

When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
Baking. It helped me as a kid, and it still helps me today.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
100% me, but with my shy girl side turned down a bit.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What will you regret not doing?
Taking too long to chase my dream of having a bakery.
