José Eduardo Reyes & Marisol Reyes Reyes

Hi José Eduardo Reyes & Marisol Reyes, we appreciate you sharing your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hello, my name is José Reyes; I will tell a brief story of how I started as a restauranteur business owner. At such a young age, 8 years old to be exact, I had my first experience as an entrepreneur. I grew up in an entrepreneurial family; my father, Felix Reyes, would be in the tomato trade business back in our home country of Mexico. As a child, I was very imperative and would spend most of the time at work with my father. Since I was up and down all day, my father bought me my first box of chewing gum and sent me off to sell it. I thought it was a fun thing to do. Years passed, and my father immigrated to the United States of America, chasing the American Dream and leaving his family behind. Fast forward a few years later, we joined my father in America, and as an entrepreneur, he started his own landscaping company. When I turned 17 years old, I started working for him full-time, and as the years passed, we became business partners. After 13 years in business, in 2020, I decided to create a new adventure with my wife, Marisol Reyes, and open up our first food trailer without any experience in the food industry; all we had was a dream. This dream did not come from one day to another; it came to my mind 6 years ago. As a field worker, I would always be looking for quality food; it did not have to be from a luxury restaurant, but an excellent homemade flavor small restaurant or street vendor. My target was my people: construction, landscaping, and all field workers. I wanted to serve them top-quality food. After 2 years, GOD blessed us with our very first location, and one of my dreams had come true: to open our own restaurant, La Gordibuena Taqueria / Restaurant. Now we know that anything is possible with GOD in front of every decision we make, a great team, and willpower. We will continue serving our clients with top-quality food and renovating year after year to deliver the best in Mexican Food. The Future Looks Bright.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been a challenging road. One of the many struggles initially is lack of experience; like any other business, it takes work. Lots of hard work, long hours, and any profit would return to the business.

Thanks for sharing that. So, you could tell us a bit more about your work.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Credit goes to my wife, Marisol Reyes, my father, Felix Reyes, my brother, Miguel Reyes, our clients, and our team because they give us their best and most important God.
