Today we’d like to introduce you to Omar Lopez
Hi Omar, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve been into fragrances since I was a kid. Back in school, I was that guy who always had to smell good—clean, fresh, and rocking a nice scent. My love for perfumes was so real that in college, I even started selling them to friends and acquaintances as a side hustle.
A few years ago, I got into leveling up my style—figuring out how to dress better and really understand the whole game of looking sharp. That’s when I found my inspiration, my now-friend Chily. He’s from my country but lives in Uruguay, and we both ended up in this crazy world of fragrance and fashion content creation.
What makes my content different? Clean scripts, fresh edits, and a lot of personality. And most importantly—real talk. Every review I post is 100% honest. I’ve been creating content seriously for about a year now. At first, I was all about men’s fashion, but over time, my focus naturally shifted to fragrances.
It’s been a wild ride—great support, an amazing community, and connections with both influencers and brands that I now work with. Honestly, I’m just having fun doing what I love, and somehow, it’s turned into something way bigger than I expected.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been all smooth sailing, especially since I decided to prioritize creating content with the sole goal of helping my community with what I love doing and talking about all the time.
Finding a balance between this and my personal life has definitely been challenging—whether it’s with my wife, friends, or just balancing everything else. But at the end of the day, having their support pushes me every single day.
It hasn’t been the easiest road, but honestly, I’m enjoying the ride. It’s all part of the process, and I’m grateful for every step of it.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
What sets me apart? I think it’s my ability to connect with people and brands on a real level. It’s crazy to think that brands I once saw only from the consumer side are now collaborations I’m proud to be a part of. I’ve also had the chance to meet incredible personalities in the fragrance world, and it’s been a journey I never imagined.
One of the highlights has been working with Dara Caro Dubai. They took me to their launch tour in Puerto Rico back in February, and just a few days ago, I was invited to the launch of a new fragrance at Le Labo here in Austin.
What I’m most proud of? Definitely the trust that people, like Francis, the CEO of Dara Caro, have placed in me—not just as a creator, but as a person. That’s something that really motivates me and keeps me going. I’m proud of what I’m building, and I’m excited to see where it all leads.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
First and foremost, I have to give credit to God. Without Him, none of this would be possible.
My wife, Heysel Requena (@heyselrequena), has been absolutely fundamental in this journey—she pushes me every day to be better, and I’m forever grateful for her support.
I also want to thank all the amazing people who have shown me unconditional support and believed in me.
Alexander Talamasco (@itschilly) is one of those people I’ll never forget. I remember when he said to me months ago, “-Now it’s official, welcome to the world of fragrance reviewers.” That moment stuck with me.
Ronny Cedano (@ronnycedano_Fragances) is a true gift from God and Instagram. He’s quickly become a close friend, and I’m not just talking about perfumes here. He’s been a crucial part of my recent growth, and I know he’ll continue to be.
