Lord Benjamin Redic II’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

We recently had the chance to connect with Lord Benjamin Redic II and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Benjamin, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
One of the things that I’m excited about is my home and the book shelf that sits next to my desk. I’m a nerd, so having a place for all the books I’ve collected over the years is awesome to me.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Lord Benjamin Nathniel Redic II, known as The Violence Conductor, is the driving force behind the Austin Action Fest & Market, a film festival dedicated to showcasing and distributing action-oriented projects. The festival also hosts stunt intensives to train emerging talent and features video game tournaments. The most recent event, held August 8-10, 2025, was a resounding success, with eight projects securing distribution offers. Legendary filmmakers Keith Strandberg and Keith Vitali led parts of the stunt intensive, joined by Grandmaster Samuel Harris of the Moy Yat family, who instructed students in Ving Tsun.As a film producer,

Ben is currently in pre-production on a Texas-based fantasy feature film, “Chronicles of a Broken Path” with a strong action focus. “Take The Witcher, Lord Of The Rings and Game of Thrones, throw in anime inspired action and you have an idea of what we plan to do with Chronicles”. The movie already has a board game attached to it. With this project he is passionate about highlighting local talent, believing Texas offers untapped potential for the film industry, particularly for low-budget action films under $2 million. “We can’t do business if there’s no show,” Ben says, emphasizing the need for quality productions to drive industry growth. With its vast and versatile landscapes, he and his colleagues are confident Texas can become a hub for action filmmaking.

Beyond film, Ben manages Beatz Ballistic, a Texas-based record label featuring producers specializing in electronic and hip-hop-influenced music. Recognizing their raw talent but lack of direction, Ben coached the group to create their first collective album, which has received a warm response. The label is now focused on marketing the album, with plans to produce innovative music videos in collaboration with their film industry network. This is just the beginning for Beatz Ballistic as they aim to make waves in the music scene.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
I remember graduating from high school as a TAG (Honors) student with a distinguished diploma. I was told that I would have access to a special grant as well due to some other special tests I had taken. So my expectation, based on the information from my elders and educators was that my community college tuition would be mostly taken care of. Absolutely false. I was given a first hand education in self reliance and I never forgot it. I realized at that moment, that no matter what anyone told me, no matter why I believed it, the decisions were still my own. The results and consequences still landed on me. To succeed in this world, I needed to be more shrewd. Know the rules. Play the game well.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
From suffering I learned my capacity for growth. My capacity to move forward no matter what anyone said or did. This is the essence of discipline, setting your mind to something and doing it no matter what. Saying you’re going to do something and having the integrity to see it through or die trying. After being hit with multiple life events like the death of a parent and the death of a long standing relationship at the same time, I hit rock bottom. But I didn’t stay there. God never lets me stay there. There was work for me to do, and we took those steps with a little bit of faith and a whole lotta fire. It may not be pretty, but the Fire was the absolute unwillingness to let people revel in my downfall. They could only do that if I stayed down. So I refused to stay down.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Loyalty is what matters to me. It can give you purpose. It can give you work ethic. If you really care about the people around you, you will make moves no matter what. If you lack loyalty, nothing can save you from failure.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Have you ever gotten what you wanted, and found it did not satisfy you?
Yes. And this is a good thing. The beauty and excitement isn’t really in the getting. It’s in the journey to the getting. The story about the getting. With no struggle there’s no worthwhile story, no tension, no excitement.
