Today we’d like to introduce you to Allison Bailleres and Cassandra Csanyi.
Hello Allison and Cassandra, we appreciate you sharing your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Lit Chicks Productions was created to bring our own experiences of music and artistry to the East Texas community. When we say our own experiences, we mean every music festival, concert, and art show we’ve attended since childhood. It was always our dream to create something everyone can enjoy. When we were in high school, we threw the best parties. People loved our parties because they were thoroughly planned and created an experience where people could enjoy music and have the best time with their friends. We first decided to start this company after constantly being turned down because we did not have “enough experience” in the industry. We had a vision and decided to take it into our hands and do it independently because we could. Lit Chicks Productions is not a company that was created with the idea of making money. Our purpose is to give others the opportunities we were never given while creating a place where people can have fun and feel free to express themselves however they please.
We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As a company that has not had a lot of events (yet), our biggest obstacle would have to be people taking us seriously. However, this is an obstacle that many companies face when they start. Cassandra started in the medical field and works as an ER nurse. Allison is an environmental geoscientist and currently works with Apple. So how would anyone take us seriously? We’re just two young chicks with established careers far outside the event business, but we had a dream. Although it started with just the two of us, we have leaned on others for help and knowledge, as this is a learning experience for both of us. That is why we harp on the idea that this company was created for the people and that asking for help is okay. While we still want to keep our taste to Lit Chicks, we are always open to new ideas from the people and want to represent the hard-working artists within the community, all while having some fun.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about Lit Chicks Productions?
Our first event took place on January 13th of 2023. What originally was supposed to be a birthday celebration turned into a grand event for Friday the 13th. We had nearly 100 people attend our event. We hosted three DJs, and a private bartender, had a fantastic skyrise view of downtown Austin, and brought the spooky atmosphere. It was a total success. We are also having a summer event this July, so stay tuned for updates on our Instagram @litchicksprod.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Ah! The famous question, “Where do you see yourselves in the next 5-10 years?” This is our favorite. Not to give away any of our plans, but we hope to expand to cities outside of Austin, TX. We want to bring the flavor of Austin to other cities in Texas. This brings us back to the first question of how and why we created this company. We had a vision to create a unique music and arts festival. Within the next 5-10 years, that is our biggest goal. We won’t go into detail about this, but we will leave the anticipation there. With more events and partnerships with other companies, we want to continue the idea that we help our local artists. However, that does not mean they must stay local to promote their art/product.
