Meet Brad Costa of Austin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brad Costa.

Hi Brad, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always loved movies and the art of acting. It’s something that I’ve always known I’ve wanted to do since I was a little boy.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like any other road or profession it’s had its ups and downs. You go through a lot of rejection. Sometimes you don’t hear from anybody for a while. You don’t get any callbacks and your mind start starts playing games on you and you just have to take initiative and just keep putting in the work and keep pursuing and get yourself out there until you’re at the right time at the right place.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
So I work at Costco wholesale and I’m a front end assistant. So far that pays the bills. I’d say so far what I’m mostly known for is when I played “Mateo” in Fernando Mora’s directorial debut short film “Los Dos Hermanos”. I am most proud of just being someone that is going after his dream. Life is too short to be doing something you don’t wanna do and I take that very literal and very serious and it’s like they say it’s the only life we got so I’m doing the most withwhat I’ve got. I think which sets me apart from others is I have a very expressive face and a presence. Sometimes I feel like I don’t need to say anything in a scene to invoke emotion

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I think you need thick skin in this business. You need to be able to handle constructive criticism, rejection, and people that just don’t like or believe in you. I also think you need to be very disciplined. I think you need to be very persistent and do what most people are not willing to do.
