Meet Caitlen Monnone of Caitlen Paige Ink

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caitlen Monnone.

Caitlen, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Before getting into permanent makeup, my background was in fitness. I managed a Pilates studio and taught Reformer Pilates, which I still teach today because I love it.

I first became interested in permanent makeup through friends in the industry. I loved their work and how it could impact someone’s confidence. That was something I already loved about fitness, helping women feel stronger and more confident. Permanent makeup gave me another way to do that.

At the end of 2024, I decided to go for it and traveled to Portland, Oregon, to train at Daela Cosmetic Tattoo. When I came back to Austin, I connected with Micaela of Just Brow Things. I loved how soft and natural her work was, which was the style I wanted my work to reflect. She became my mentor, and I’ve continued learning from her as I’ve grown as an artist. I am currently an artist at Just Brow Things.

Since then, I’ve continued building my clientele and Caitlen Paige Ink. What I love most is being able to enhance someone’s natural features in a way that makes their routine easier while still making them feel like themselves. I’m really proud of how far I’ve come, and I’m excited to keep growing from here.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting something of my own came with a learning curve, especially putting myself out there and building a clientele. At some point, I had to stop questioning myself, trust the work I had put in, and just go for it.

I’ve also learned just how much goes into permanent makeup beyond the actual tattooing. From mapping and color theory to understanding different skin types and how pigment heals, there’s always more to learn and refine.

Every part of the process has pushed me to trust myself, refine my craft, and become more confident in the artist and business owner I am today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Caitlen Paige Ink specializes in soft, natural-looking Powder Brows in Austin, Texas. Powder brows are a form of permanent makeup that uses shading to add shape and definition to the brows. My goal is for someone to look at your face and notice you, not your brow tattoo.

My approach is very intentional. I consider your existing brow hair, facial structure, skin type, and undertones when designing your brows. Every appointment starts with a consultation and brow mapping. I’ll give my professional recommendation based on your natural features, but you’ll always approve the shape before we move forward. I also prefer to start soft and build where needed at the touch-up appointment.

I take a lot of pride in the experience I give my clients. Safety and continued education are really important to me, and I’ll always be honest about what I think will give you the best outcome. You’re trusting me with your face, and I don’t take that lightly. I want you to feel comfortable, taken care of, and confident in your brows when you leave.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
If you’re considering permanent makeup, take your time choosing your artist. Look at their healed work, not just freshly done brows, and find someone whose style matches what you’re looking for.

As for Caitlen Paige Ink, I want to continue specializing in natural-looking brows and eventually have a studio of my own. I genuinely care about the work I give each person and try to approach every appointment the same way I would if my mom, sister, or best friend were sitting in my chair. I’m excited to keep growing my business while staying true to the kind of artist I want to be.
