Meet Debbie Alexander Euers of Austin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Debbie Alexander Euers

Hi Debbie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve lived in Austin for most of my life, growing up in this vibrant city and witnessing its incredible transformation over the years. After graduating from The University of Texas at Austin, I joined Teach for America, a program dedicated to addressing educational inequities across the country. Through this experience, I had the privilege of serving in Title I elementary schools, where I worked closely with students from underserved communities. Over several years, I focused on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment, helping students overcome challenges and achieve their goals. This role not only deepened my commitment to serving others but also taught me invaluable skills in communication, empathy, and problem-solving—skills I now bring to my real estate career.

My interest in real estate was sparked when my husband and I bought our first home in Austin. That experience opened my eyes to how vital it is to have the right support during such a significant milestone. Later, we turned that home into an investment property, which gave us firsthand experience with real estate investing and further fueled my desire to help others achieve their real estate goals.

Real estate is also deeply rooted in my family—my mom has been a real estate broker in Austin for over 20 years, and my dad is a residential builder in the area. Growing up, I was immersed in conversations about homes and the importance of creating spaces that truly meet people’s needs. This background, combined with my passion for serving others, naturally led me to a career in real estate, where I’m committed to providing my clients with personalized support and clear guidance every step of the way.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road to building a real estate career has been far from smooth, but the challenges have been incredibly rewarding. One of the biggest obstacles I faced was overcoming fear. Real estate is a high-risk career—87% of agents quit within their first year. That statistic was often in the back of my mind, and it made me question whether I was cut out for it at times.

In the beginning, I had to develop serious tenacity. Rejection became a regular part of the process, and I quickly learned there’s no guaranteed paycheck. You’re always working to generate business, build relationships, and put in the effort to make things happen. The emotional rollercoaster is real—you can spend months working with a client, only for the deal to fall through or for them to change their mind at the last minute. It’s tough, but over time, you learn to navigate the ups and downs, and the wins feel that much more rewarding.

Time management was another challenge. Real estate isn’t a 9-to-5 job—you have to be available when clients need you, whether it’s weekends, evenings, or last-minute showings. Finding balance between work, personal life, and self-care was tough at first, but I’ve learned to manage it over time.

What has kept me going is my passion for helping others and my belief in what I bring to the table. My background as a teacher gave me skills in communication, empathy, and problem-solving—skills that have been invaluable in building trust with clients. Through it all, I’ve learned to celebrate the small wins, adapt quickly, and stay focused on the long-term goal, even when the path gets tough.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I work in residential real estate in Austin, Texas and surrounding areas. I help a wide range of clients, including first-time homebuyers, investors, empty nesters, and everything in between. My approach is always to provide personalized support, ensuring each client feels informed, confident, and, most importantly, excited throughout the process. Real estate can be stressful, but I strive to make it fun and lighthearted, so my clients enjoy the journey from start to finish.

Growing up in Austin and being a second-generation realtor, I have a deep understanding of the local neighborhoods and school systems. This knowledge allows me to provide valuable insights, helping clients choose the right area based on their lifestyle, needs, and long-term goals.

What sets me apart is my commitment to building strong, long-term relationships with my clients. I take the time to listen to their unique needs, guiding them through the process whether they’re buying their first home, looking for an investment property, or downsizing after their kids have left home.

I’m also proud of the trust and loyalty I’ve built over the years. Many of my clients return to me for future real estate needs or refer me to family and friends, which is the greatest compliment I can receive. The personal connections I form with my clients are what motivate me to do my best work every day, and I’m proud to have earned their trust through my dedication and attention to detail.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was driven and focused when it came to school and sports, but I also loved making friends and having fun. I’ve loved connecting with people my whole life, and building community has always been something I naturally enjoy. At the same time, I knew from a young age that I wanted to stay in Austin and attend the University of Texas, so I worked hard to stay focused on my academics to make that happen.

Competitive cheerleading was also a big part of my life. I spent years training and competing, and eventually had the incredible opportunity to cheer at UT. It was a rewarding experience that taught me the value of teamwork, dedication, and perseverance. Through it all, my passion for connecting with others has been a driving force in everything I do.
