Meet Jasamine King of Austin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasamine King.

Hi Jasamine, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Jasamine King. I was born in Dallas, Texas, and raised in Austin, where my journey as a beauty entrepreneur began.

I consider myself a self-made hustler and entrepreneur, and I give God all the glory for the strength, faith, and determination that have kept me going. My journey started with doing nails, which eventually led me to graduate from Central Texas Beauty College. As I looked for ways to grow my clientele and expand my opportunities, I came up with the idea of working in a beauty supply store. That decision led me to Star Beauty Supply, and from there, everything began to fall into place.

What makes that part of my story so special is that my mother, Gloria King, had been taking me to that very same beauty supply store for years when I was younger. Looking back, it feels like everything came full circle. Something that was once a part of my childhood became a stepping stone toward my future.

Today, you can find me styling and slaying wigs, doing nails on the side, and recording Hair content at Salima African Hair Braiding in Pflugerville Texas while continuing to build my name and brand in the beauty industry. I’ve been blessed to grow a strong social media following and connect with people who support my work and my journey. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, but I know this is only the beginning. My goal is to continue growing, creating opportunities for myself and others, and inspiring people to pursue their dreams regardless of where they start.

My journey is a reminder that sometimes the things meant for you are already being aligned long before you realize it. I’m just getting started, and I’m excited for everything God has in store for me.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I believe that struggles are a part of every journey, no matter what path we choose in life. There will be challenges, setbacks, and moments when we question ourselves, but I believe it’s through our faith in God that we find the strength to keep going. God has a purpose for each of us, and sometimes the challenges we face are part of the process of becoming who we’re meant to be. We have to trust His timing, remain faithful, and continue putting in the work, even when things get difficult. What He has aligned for us will come in His timing, and I believe it’s our responsibility to keep showing up, keep believing, and never give up on the purpose He has placed within us.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in wig installations, with a strong focus on synthetic wigs and transforming them into natural-looking, beautiful, ready-to-wear styles. Working in a beauty supply store allows me to offer more than just a service. I want every person who walks through the door to feel like they can come in one way and leave feeling like a whole new version of themselves!

At Star Beauty Supply, customers can explore different styles, try on wigs, and receive personalized assistance from me to find the right hair for their needs, lifestyle, and personality. Whether someone is looking for a complete wig installation or simply needs help choosing the perfect unit, I want them to feel comfortable, confident, and excited about their look. I work with all types of wigs, but I especially love showing people how beautiful and realistic synthetic hair can look with the right customization and styling.

What makes this work so special to me is the opportunity to help people feel beautiful and good about themselves. Beauty has always been personal for me, largely because of my mother, Gloria King. She loved beauty and instilled in me the importance of taking pride in yourself, whether that means your hair, your nails, your appearance, or simply the kind of person you are on the inside. Those lessons have stayed with me throughout my journey.

I want my work to be about more than hair. I want people to leave my chair feeling confident, valued, and beautiful in their own skin. I continue to put God first, trust His direction, and remain open to wherever He leads me next. I believe that when you use your gifts to make a positive difference in other people’s lives, the possibilities are endless.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
