Meet Jasmine Hill of Austin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Hill.

Hi Jasmine, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hi, I would like to start off by introducing myself my name is Jasmine Hill but everyone calls me Jazzi. I started being involved in the loc community in 2012. I have currently been in business for seven years throughout the seven years I have stayed consistent and loyal to my craft and to the people who have supported me throughout this journey.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey has not always been smooth. When I first started my hair business. I had a set a twins who are now seven and a y yr old daughter who’s now 13 so it was definitely a challenge trying to navigate that with being a mother of three now today I am a mother of four and business is great & established . I am a blessing to my clients and they are a blessing to me.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a Loctician. I specialize in starting locs maintaining locs locs styles, crochet maintenance loc reattachment wedding loc styles & Freeform correction ! I have done most of the UT players from years 22-25 My work has also been featured in a Super Bowl commercial with one of my clients, Jamaal CHARLES also what sets me apart from others is I have had 3 sets of locs and I know all the ins and outs about locs plus I provide a safe and comfortable space for my clients to 100% be themselves and I only do one on one appointments for maximum privacy!

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I don’t have any advice on finding a mentor, unfortunately, but what has worked for me is your work speaks louder than your words sometimes so as long as you’re producing quality work, you will always have walking advertisement and when it comes to networking, don’t be afraid of rejection. You cannot please everybody, but always promote yourself and your business. Stay true to who you are as a business person and what quality of business you provide or want to provide.
