Hi Jimmy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
The Home At Last Band formed in Georgetown, Texas during the early days of the pandemic in 2020. In a way this was a blessing, because we had nowhere to be and honed in on an amazing playlist of Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers, and Eagles tunes. A true “American Band”, the original 5 of us had over 200 years of combined professional experience and hailed from the 4 corners of the US: Keyboard Player and Drummer from The Bronx, NY,; German speaking Texas native Bass Player from New Braunfels, Texas; Lead guitarist from Oakland, CA; and Spanish speaking Multi-Instrumentalist from Rochester, MN.
We did our first gig at a private party on April 12th, 2021, and shortly after that, our self-destructive drummer left due to “artistic differences” because we wanted to expand our repertoire (Pink Floyd, Chicago, a little county, etc.). We had gigs coming up, so the bass player called a drummer he knew from Waco, Texas, and despite the distance he had to cover on I-35 and in the rehearsal room, he was a huge upgrade, and did his first gig with us two weeks later. It was off to the races! Private events, corporate events, weddings, vineyards, breweries, clubs, and municipal concerts from Austin down to San Antonio and up to Waco.
Our second big challenge came in late 2024 when our lead guitarist started “jonesing” to do something else. Since the band had discussed expanding with female vocalists, etc., we discovered the amazingly talented Nina Sugabrown from Hutto, Texas in June of 2025. This exploded our artistic horizon to include R&B, Soul, and Rock icons like Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Anita Baker, Sade, and even the B-52’s. By September of 2025 we did our first gig without our “jonesing” lead guitarist and we were back to five members with a smoother, more open, and accessible sound.
Bottom Line, if you’ve got something good…never give it up!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?

What matters most to you?
The unparalleled magic of performing live music. We love, love, love, what we do, and never take the easy way out in terms of the eclectic and challenging material we choose. The byproduct of this approach is that we’ve developed a loving group of devoted fans who completely get us. We can “feel” it. We’re performing, “The Soundtrack of Their Lives”.
