Today we’d like to introduce you to Krissy Collins.
Hi Krissy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born and raised in Austin, so this city has always been home. Watching it grow and change has given me a deep appreciation for its neighborhoods, its people, and what makes each part of it special. After graduating from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science and a minor in business, I found my path in real estate, combining my local roots, creative instincts, and love of connecting with people.
I’ve been in Austin real estate since 2014 and am now a Broker Associate with eXp Realty, focusing on Lake Travis, Lakeway, Bee Cave, and the greater Austin area. I love seeing a property’s potential, helping sellers bring it to life, and guiding clients through some of their biggest decisions. For me, this business has always been personal. The relationships I build matter just as much as the homes I help buy and sell.
But my story goes far beyond my career. I’m a single mom of two, and I take resilience seriously. Every day, I gather the strength to keep moving forward and show my kids that they can do anything they dream of. I want them to see their mom working hard, taking chances, and believing in herself, even when life gives her every reason to feel defeated.
I lost my mom this year, and navigating that grief while raising my children and running a business has been one of the hardest chapters of my life. I’ve walked through many storms, and each one has helped shape the woman and warrior entrepreneur I am today. That doesn’t mean I never struggle. It means I keep finding my way forward.
I have big dreams, and I’m not afraid to chase even the craziest goals I dream up. I’m determined that nothing I walk through will take away that part of me. I’m building a life my kids and I can be proud of, and I cannot wait to see what else this life has in store for me.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not. The road to success is rarely smooth or linear, and mine has been messy, unpredictable, and full of starting over. But woven through all of it have been gratitude, silver linings, and reasons to keep going.
In just three and a half years, I’ve gone through a divorce, fought for custody of my children, rebuilt my career and bank account, and paid off some of the largest debts I’ve ever faced. I’ve grieved the death of a former boyfriend, watched my dad undergo triple bypass surgery, and lost my mom and two uncles. Along the way, I also changed brokerages and began a new professional chapter while still finding my footing personally.
There were days when moving forward meant simply doing the next thing in front of me. Raising my kids, showing up for my clients, and learning how to carry grief while continuing to build a life took strength I didn’t always feel I had. But every time I fell, I got back up.
That perseverance is what I’m most proud of. I’m still willing to dream big, take chances, and work toward a future I’m excited about. And I want my kids to see that they can walk through incredibly hard things and still build a beautiful life.
As you know, we’re big fans of The House Calls. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I run a real estate business where I help navigate my sellers, buyers and developers in this crazy real estate market, and guide them to make the best financial decisions in purchasing, selling or developing their properties. I focus mainly on the hill country in and outside of Austin, as well as Lake front and surrounding property of Lake Travis and Lake Austin. I personally live in Lakeway/Bee Cave area where I also specialize in and help families move their lifestyles to neighborhoods and properties that match their future goals.
I also support other agents in the industry maximize their businesses and support their own personal goals as well. Being an Austinite I love helping pe0ple and families move here and fall in love with this city like I have all these years
What are your plans for the future?
My plan is to explode and boom my career more than ever so my kids can have a life they deserve from a Mom who worked her ass off to get there!
