Meet Lindsay Kana of Bastrop

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Kana

Hi Lindsay, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always had a passion for helping people! I started my career in the wine industry, opened a tasting room, and realized how much I enjoyed interacting with people within our local community of Bastrop. Whether it was someone looking for a home, new job, or just wanting to meet new people, I loved being able to help them connect with others. I realized I wanted to continue this on a deeper, more personal level. I’ve always had a passion for Real Estate (my husband is a local contractor and both of my parents were Realtors), so I decided to transition into the field to help buyers and sellers achieve their dreams in Bastrop!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was a lot of unfamiliar information at first, and starting a new career can be a challenge, especially when you have three kiddos! I definitely struggled with the thought of beginning something entirely new at the age of 44, and essentially “starting over”, but I’m so happy I moved forward. I joined an amazing agency, Kana Real Estate, with a team who is knowledgeable and inspiring. Never stop learning and chasing your dreams!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’ve been involved in the Bastrop community since I was born…my Dad was a local politician and I grew up immersed in all things Bastrop. His passion for helping the community became mine, and I carry that with me in my Real Estate career. I stay highly informed about local trends, including real estate, ensuring I have a deep understanding of what’s happening in Bastrop and surrounding areas. I’m also on the executive committee of the Bastrop Chamber of Commerce, and on the Main Street Advisory Board. Being involved in organizations like these strengthens my ability to help my clients.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was always around adults so I had a love for antique shopping (thanks to my Grandma), playing dominos, and reading. I also learned how to be comfortable initiating conversation at a young age, and meeting new people.
