Today we’d like to introduce you to Madison Morgan.
Hi Madison, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
For a long time, I thought I needed to figure out exactly who I was supposed to be. I spent a lot of time chasing different aesthetics, interests, and ideas of success, thinking one of them would eventually feel like me. Somewhere along the way, I realized I was asking the wrong question.
I stopped trying to build a life that looked like me and started building one that felt like me.
I’ve always been drawn to creating. It started with fashion and photography, but over time it grew into web design, coding, and branding. At first those interests felt unrelated, but I eventually realized they all came from the same place. Whether I’m designing a website, taking a photograph, or telling a brand’s story, I’m chasing the same thing: creating something thoughtful that connects with people.
Today, I’m finishing my degree in Public Relations while preparing to intern with a PR firm. At the same time, I’m building my photography portfolio and growing my client base, while continuing to learn web design and coding. My goal is to bring those worlds together by blending technology, fashion, art, and storytelling into work that feels creative, intentional, and genuine.
I’m still at the beginning of my journey, and I honestly love that. I’ve learned that creativity doesn’t belong to one medium—it moves with you. The more I’ve followed what genuinely inspires me instead of trying to fit into one box, the more I’ve become the person I was searching for all along.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but honestly I think that’s true for most people. I’ve had moments where I questioned if I was on the right path or felt like I needed to have everything figured out already. It’s easy to compare your timeline to everyone else’s, especially when you’re trying to build something creative.
I’ve also spent the last few years balancing school, work, and trying to grow projects that I’m genuinely passionate about. There have been times where things felt slow or uncertain, but I’ve realized that’s just part of building something that’s actually meaningful.
More than anything, I’ve learned to stop chasing what I think I’m supposed to do and start paying attention to what actually feels right for me. Once I stopped putting so much pressure on having the perfect plan, I found myself enjoying the process a lot more. I’m still learning as I go, but I think that’s the exciting part.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I don’t think I’ve ever been interested in just one creative outlet. What excites me most is finding the connection between different ones. Right now, that looks like photography, branding, web design, and fashion, but I don’t really see them as separate. To me, they’re all different ways of telling a story.
I’m currently building my photography client base while finishing my degree in Public Relations, and I’m continuing to learn web design and coding because I love the intersection of creativity and technology. I enjoy creating work that feels intentional—whether that’s capturing someone’s personality through a photo, building a clean website, or thinking about how a brand can connect with people in a more genuine way.
What I’m probably most proud of isn’t one specific project. It’s that I’ve allowed myself to follow my curiosity instead of feeling like I had to fit into one title. Every skill I’ve picked up has made me a better creative, and I think that’s what sets me apart. I enjoy seeing the bigger picture and bringing different ideas together to create something that feels authentic and meaningful.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that you don’t have to have everything figured out before you start. For a long time, I felt like I needed to choose one path, one identity, or one thing I was “supposed” to be good at. But the more I explored different interests, the more I realized that all of those pieces were connected.
I’ve learned that trusting my curiosity can lead me somewhere meaningful. The things I’m drawn to fashion, photography, technology, design, and storytelling may look different on the surface, but they all come from the same place: wanting to create and connect with people.
I think the other big lesson has been learning not to compare my timeline to anyone else’s. Everyone’s path looks different, and some of the most valuable growth happens during the seasons where you’re still figuring things out.
Now, instead of focusing so much on becoming a specific version of myself, I’m focused on continuing to learn, create, and build a life that feels authentic to me.
