Today we’d like to introduce you to Melody Cohn.
Hi Melody, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was a busy mom of two, working and commuting with barely a moment to myself. I loved my job and spending time with my kids but there never seemed to be enough time in the day for me. I was constantly feeling drained, searching for an in breath. One day I was hit with a life changing event and realized that I needed to start living in the now. I began practicing mindfulness & intentional living. I’d always been focused on clean, natural, organic products, but I took it to the next level.
I started developing micro-rituals that helped me stay focused throughout the day and treating myself to little luxurious elements that enhanced my routines and made me feel special. Each little ritual I incorporated made me feel more grounded and at peace. That’s what I set out to do with ROAM Homegrown. Create luxurious products that can be mindfully infused into your everyday routines to create self-care rituals.
Each time you use our intention journals to identify your goals, smooth on nourishing body oil after your shower, mist your pillow with lavender spray before bed or light a candle to elevate your mood, you’re creating a moment of mindfulness and promoting self-love. Along the way, I’ve learned that taking time for myself is 100% necessary and that by filling my cup first, I have boundless energy to share with others.
At ROAM Homegrown, we make our products in small batches with clean, natural & cruelty-free ingredients. We scent our body products with pure essential oils and all of our products are Leaping Bunny certified. We’re committed to joyful living by taking care of our bodies, our minds and our earth.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s interesting because you look at all of these entrepreneurs out there and you never see the struggle, but I find it’s a part of the beautiful journey. Things are never quite as easy as they seem. I do think there is an element of setting your intentions and working toward them everyday but also of trusting yourself and letting go. For me it is a balancing act. I homeschool my kids, manage ROAM with my husband and find time for myself.

How do you think about luck?
I prefer to think of it as energy and you see and receive the energy that you put out into the world. I choose to be kind, positive and grateful and I see that energy return to me daily.
