Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Gorman.
Hi Mike, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been in advertising throughout my career and have been lucky enough to work with some amazing brands and really talented people.
Over the past 5 years, I launched a creative agency called The Best Drink Ever. We specialize in marketing for liquor brands, bars, restaurants, hotels and destination marketing organizations.
We are LA based, but travel a lot for work. One of our favorite cities to explore is Austin. We have clients there, so we are there pretty regularly.
A lot of people don’t get excited about traveling for work, but with so many great bars and restaurants in Austin, we are always looking for an excuse to visit.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting your own business is tough. I went to school for Marketing and now all of a sudden, I am the head of Creative, Influencer Outreach, HR, Production, Accounting, and Operations. The past few years especially have been really hard on the hospitality industry, which has made things even more challenging.
But with that said, we have awesome clients and a really great team. My videographer Dan Dobi and photographer Robiee Ziegler are rockstars, they make going to work fun.

High-Level, we handle social media, media buying and planning, events and influencer outreach for clients. We also love to help brands share their stories through photos and videos.
We shoot a lot of content at bars and restaurants. On our last trip to Austin we got to check out Hotel Van Zandt, Joann’s Fine Foods, Tipsy Alchemist, Idle Hands, Whisler’s, and Fairmont Hotel. The thing that really sticks out is they all had impressive cocktails, amazing food, cool vibes, great music and very welcoming staff. Everyone was super nice and helpful.
Truthfully, the hardest part about running our job is when people ask us…What is The Best Drink Ever? I don’t think we will ever be able to answer that because so many of the drinks we have are one-of-a-kind, which makes them impossible to compare.
