Meet Reba Bassett of Revelation Organizing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Reba Bassett.

Hi Reba, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started this business out of my desire to alleviate stress in others and create a more flexible life for myself. My previous career in healthcare positioned me to be involved in people’s lives at their most vulnerable and stressed moments, combining providing encouragement and practical needs in my daily work. I’m doing the same thing now with my business- just in a different context! My clients invite me in to their homes, which is a big step for some, and I’m able to use my practical and relational knowledge to achieve their goals.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Coming from a career where I was not running the show, learning how to run your own business was it’s own crash course! Several times I just wanted to know what the “best” answer was or the “best” way to do something, but I realized that I needed to really try different options out and learn from my mistakes. Gratefully there were no major mistakes made, but I do have a clearer idea of what works for my clients and myself.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Revelation Organizing helps Austin-area families get unstuck from clutter so they can live full lives and enjoy their homes without shame or judgment. I have three major areas of clientele: (1) general organizing projects like garages, closets, kitchens, and bedrooms, (2) move management in packing, unpacking, logistics and vendor management, along with storage and renovation issues, and (3) individuals with neurodivergent tendencies like ADHD and OCD, coaching them on the the best way to interact with their home environment. I love both working one-on-one and overseeing large projects, but either way every effort is made for a high-touch, respectful, and confidential experience. Part of a successful organizing project is getting to know the people and personalities who will be interacting with the system, and at Revelation Organizing I seek to find the best solution for the client, not what a magazine or influencer touts as the best.

What are your plans for the future?
This fall I will celebrate 5 years in business, so that’s exciting! It is a huge milestone for me and seeing God’s faithfulness in this season.
