Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis & Briana Garcia
Hi Alexis & Briana, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
We grew up extremely poor. My mother was a single mom with 3 kids, therefore we never had extravagant parties or anything custom. This ignited our creativity at a young age and we gained a passion for art. I had my daughter in 2019 and she lit a spark in all of us, reigniting that creative flame. Holidays became more fun, and birthdays were happier! We began hand-making all of the decor for her parties, including custom piñatas, custom shoes, and custom centerpieces. We found so much joy in creating and seeing people’s reactions afterwards. At first it was a silly idea. We joked for a while & then finally, we were both like “f it!” We have each other, what could go wrong right? At first, it was really scary. I mean, it was fun to make the website & post pictures with silly captions. But putting ourselves out there & being vulnerable with something we love was not something we were used to. We got our first invoice about a month into posting & it motivated us to keep going. A couple days later, we make a sale on Etsy & sell a couple of piñatas! To strangers. All strangers. We realized this is what we’re supposed to be doing. It’s scary to start something new, but when you have your hermana, everything is good again. We are just 2 Austin native sisters with a passion for parties and creating. We believe that every event should be unique, and your day should be special. Our goal is to bring your vision to life and make it truly unforgettable!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has been a journey! Truthfully, the biggest struggle was just starting. Taking that first step to put ourselves out there, to trust in ourselves, our talent, our vision, and our brand — I think that was the biggest hurdle for us. We are still learning, we learn something new everyday, but getting to learn and do work you’re passionate about alongside your sister, it’s just a dream.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We specialize in event planning and decorating, our goal is to help make the impossible, possible! We love taking on new challenges and enjoy collaborating on custom pieces for our clients, it really gives us the opportunity to showcase our talents and creativity. Something unique about us that may be hard to find in others is not only the level of detail and effort we put in to really make dreams come to life, but we treat every family like our family. Building personal relationships with our Austin hermanas is just as important.
