Today we’d like to introduce you to Austin Electronic.
Hi Austin, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
It started when two longtime friends, Will and Jacob W, (Dane and Wheat respectively) who grew up as guitar players started to learn how to DJ. Will, bought DJ decks after going to a tunnel rave and wanted to showcase different genres to Austin’s burgeoning EDM/Electronic music scene. Eventually their friend Christian (Siege) decided to join the crew .Meanwhile lifelong producer/Guitar player, Jacob E. (George+) began to start developing an interest in performing as well as production/writing. Having already known each other, we joined forces to officially start an electronic music collective. The first show we did was on 7/16/25 shortly followed by a popup. We met local Austin artists, Dj Vala & Tokenwolf on instagram, and they perforemed with us at one of our first large shows. At one point we played a show at Friendly Rio Market and met DJ Dom, who eventually became a crucial member of the crew, bringing new equipment. He has gracefully helped us reach one of our goals, providing immersive high quality production. At an EDM networking event we met Armando (531.am) he chose this name because 531am is the time he was born and he views his music career as a rebirth, he has become another member of Austin electronic. Being veterans of EDM, Armando & Jacob E own a lot of synths and other pieces of live electronic equipment. We also met Donovan with PH7 Records at the @edmprosperitynetwork event along with many others .
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been a challenge to build a community, and to get our name out there. We’ve had a fair number of issues at events with an unregulated environment. The community is a huge help for any issues, they always bring narcan, and if anyone is hurt everyone is willing to help. The scene/community has been there for us so it’s our pride to deliver good performances that people will remember. Another challenge is keeping the raves underground, whilst performing at larger venues.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
George+ and DJ Dom are the producers of the group. Their focus is to bring quality original music to the scene, With DJ Dom bringing. intense melodies and George+ bringing post-digital glitch soundscapes. DJ Dane, Siege, and Wheat specialize in digging deep and finding rare cuts. 531.Am is known for his hybrid dj performances which utilize hardware synths. We all have different genres we specialize in, but the uniting factor is delivering clean mixes and exciting performances. We perform genres such as, UK Garage, Trance, Hard House, Minimal Techno, Electro house, IDM, and other subgenres. Dane and Siege frequently B2B and perform house occasionally.
