Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Brown.
Hi Erin, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started doing hair and makeup after my best friend moved to Los Angeles to be a wardrobe stylist. We were always the girls doing the most with our glam to go out in our small town. We wanted to be a dream team. I started out in fashion, doing more editorial.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This industry requires long hours and long weeks. It’s so fulfilling, but takes a lot of hard work. I am my own admin, content creator, and boss. It’s hard to turn off your brain, so you sometimes feel like you are always working. It’s never not worth it, though!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a pro hair and makeup artist. I specialize in everything from editorial to bridal, red carpet, commercial, and more. I am so proud of my Bravolebrity moments because I am a huge reality tv girl! It was top of the list for me! I think my style of makeup and story telling through hair and makeup sets me apart from most. I think most self-taught artists have their own signature style,
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I think luck occurs in every aspect of life! I think being in the right place at the right time has pushed my career forward many times. Networking is vital for this industry!
