Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Andersen.
Hi Lindsey, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
FOUND. started very organically. I fell in love with textiles while on a solo backpacking trip in India. I have always been drawn to history and art, but my brand really took shape after I began sourcing antique and vintage pieces. What began as collecting turned into creating when I realized how powerful these textiles could be when thoughtfully mounted and framed as art.
I didn’t see many people presenting them in a way that felt clean, elevated, and relevant for modern interiors. So I started experimenting with mounting techniques, scale, and framing until it felt right. Over time, that became the foundation of my work.
Today, FOUND. is a collection of one-of-a-kind pieces sourced from around the world and reimagined as large-scale artwork. I sell my work at Marburger Farm in Round Top (hope to see you there!) and work with interior designers and collectors who want something with depth, history, and presence. Every piece carries a past life, and my role is to honor that while giving it a new context.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all. Starting FOUND. was very much a leap of faith. There’s no clear roadmap for building a business around something so niche, so it’s been about trusting my instincts, taking risks, and continuing to show up even before there was proof it would work.
Building something from scratch while raising a young family has also been a challenge. My children aren’t in school full time yet, so there is no clean separation between work and life. I’ve had to learn how to create in the margins and trust slower, more intentional growth.
On the business side, sourcing is unpredictable, pricing is nuanced, and shows like Round Top require a lot of upfront investment and planning. But each challenge has refined the brand and pushed me to be more thoughtful about what I create and who I create it for.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I create large-scale artwork using antique and vintage textiles sourced from around the world, including Central Asia, the Middle East, and parts of Africa and Latin America. Each piece is carefully mounted using conservation-minded techniques and framed in acrylic shadowboxes to highlight the textile as a work of art.
I specialize in scale and presence. Many of my pieces are designed to anchor a room, not just fill a wall. I also do custom work, helping designers and clients source and create pieces tailored to a specific space.
What I’m most proud of is the balance between preservation and transformation. These textiles are often over a century old, and I’m able to give them a second life in a way that feels both respectful and current.
What sets my work apart is the combination of sourcing, curation, and presentation. It’s not just about the textile itself, but how it’s edited, mounted, and brought into a modern interior in a way that feels effortless.
How do you define success?
Success, for me, is building something meaningful without rushing it, creating work that resonates deeply with the right people and finding myself in homes and spaces that value beauty, history, and intention.
It’s also having the flexibility to be present with my family while growing a business I genuinely love. If I can continue to create pieces that feel special and place them thoughtfully, that’s success.
