Today we’d like to introduce you to Matt Montalvo.
Hi Matt, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Matt Montalvo and I’m a multi-award-winning photographer who specializes in wedding documentation. My company was established in 2007 and I have since photographed well over 1000 weddings as a lead shooter. I typically shoot between 55-70 weddings a year. I am based out of Austin but I shoot worldwide. I was born and raised in Houston, TX and graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. I started out as a hobby and here I am 19. years later still loving it just as much as the first wedding.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The only struggle was thee Covid year since weddings stopped for so long. Luckily I am a saver!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I always strive to avoid the photography trends since I believe wedding photography should bee timeless. I love capturing the candid moments that tell the real story.
What makes you happy?
When I capture a great moment and show the couple what I just caught and seeing them light up and get so excited!
