Hi Neetu, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
The Success Equations: From Starting Over to Standing Out
I was born and raised in India and built a successful corporate career there. But about ten years ago, I made one of the biggest decisions of my life—I moved to the United States. In the process, I left behind the security of a steady paycheck, my professional network, and everything that felt familiar.
Starting over in a new country in my 40s was both exciting and challenging. I had to rebuild my confidence, create new opportunities, and redefine what success looked like. Along the way, I realized that the biggest obstacle many people face is not a lack of talent or opportunity—it’s self-doubt.
That realization became my purpose. I founded The Success Door and later FLY Showcase, platforms dedicated to helping youth and adults overcome self-doubt, build confidence, and step into their full potential. Through coaching, leadership programs, public speaking, authorship, and fashion-based confidence-building experiences, I’ve had the privilege of helping hundreds of individuals find their voice and believe in themselves.
Today, I am a transformation coach, entrepreneur, speaker, pageant titleholder, and author of three books. But more than any title, I am someone who believes that reinvention is possible at any stage of life. My journey from starting over in a new country to building thriving businesses has taught me that confidence is not something you’re born with—it’s something you build. And that’s the message I now share with others every day.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not. In fact, some of the most difficult moments in my journey became the moments that shaped me the most.
Moving to the U.S. meant leaving behind the comfort and identity I had built through my corporate career and starting from scratch. There were moments when I questioned myself—whether I was capable, whether I was too late to reinvent myself, and whether my dreams were realistic.
Building businesses without a roadmap came with its own challenges—learning everything from branding and marketing to sales, networking, and leadership. There were setbacks, rejection, financial uncertainty, and plenty of moments of self-doubt.
But over time, I realized that I didn’t need to have everything figured out. I just needed to keep taking the next step.
Every challenge taught me something. Every setback made me more resilient. And eventually, the very self-doubt I struggled with became the reason I chose to help others overcome theirs.
Today, I don’t look at those struggles as detours. They were part of the journey that brought me to my purpose.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My Work, My Book, and What Sets Me Apart
My work is centered around one core mission: helping people move from self-doubt to self-belief, and from self-belief to action. I am a transformation coach, entrepreneur, speaker, and founder of The Success Door and FLY Showcase. I work with youth and adults through personal growth, leadership, entrepreneurship, authorship, communication, and confidence-building experiences.
A big part of my work is helping people discover that they don’t have to wait until they feel confident to start. Confidence is built by taking action. That philosophy has shaped everything I have created.
I am also an author of three books, and my latest book, The Success Equations, is especially close to my heart. It brings together 100 of the lessons and “magic formulas” I have shared through my Wednesday Voice series—short, practical insights on mindset, confidence, growth, relationships, leadership, and success. The book is essentially a reflection of my own journey and the lessons I have learned while rebuilding my life and career.
What makes my work different is that I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I use a tailor-made, activity-based approach where people don’t just learn concepts—they experience them, practice them, and turn them into action.
What I am most proud of isn’t a particular title or award. It’s seeing someone who once said, “I can’t,” eventually say, “I’m ready.” Whether it’s a student becoming a published author, someone stepping onto a stage for the first time, or an adult finally pursuing a dream they’ve postponed for years—that transformation is what makes my work meaningful.
And perhaps that’s also what sets me apart: I don’t just teach transformation. I have lived it. I moved from India to the U.S., left behind a corporate career, started over in my 40s, built businesses, became an author and speaker, stepped into pageantry and fashion—and every chapter has reinforced the same message I now share with others: your next chapter can begin whenever you decide to believe in yourself.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I truly believe that no success story is ever a solo story. There are so many people who deserve credit for the person and entrepreneur I have become.
My family has been my biggest source of strength. My husband and my children have supported me through the uncertainty, the long hours, the new ideas, the risks, and all the different chapters of my journey. They have seen the behind-the-scenes version of my dreams—the moments when I was excited, exhausted, unsure, or simply figuring things out—and they continued to believe in me. Their encouragement has given me the courage to keep going, even when things weren’t easy.
My parents also played a foundational role in shaping who I am. They instilled in me the values of hard work, resilience, education, and the belief that I should never limit myself because of circumstances. So much of the woman I am today comes from those early lessons.
My community has been another incredible part of my journey. When I moved to the U.S. and had to rebuild my professional life, the people who welcomed me, opened doors, connected me to others, attended my events, supported my businesses, bought my books, and simply cheered me on made a tremendous difference.
And then there are my clients, students, parents, collaborators, and team members. They have given me something even more valuable than support—they have given my work purpose. Every person who trusted me with their story, stepped onto a stage, published a book, launched an idea, or pushed past their self-doubt reminded me why I started this journey in the first place.
So, if I had to name who deserves credit, I would say my family gave me the foundation, my community gave me wings, and the people I serve gave me purpose. My journey may have my name on it, but it has never been mine alone.
