Rising Stars: Meet Tara Bertoldo of Austin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tara Bertoldo.

Hi Tara, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in a small town where hard work, integrity, and taking care of people weren’t just values—they were a way of life. Those lessons ultimately led me to nursing, and I became a registered nurse in 2009. While working in a hospital setting, I pursued my master’s degree and discovered aesthetic medicine in 2014. What began as a creative interest quickly became a passion because it allowed me to combine science, medicine, and artistry while helping people feel more confident in themselves.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
An interesting road is never smooth, right? As a young person, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do for a career. My lack of clarity and experience in the world led to a period of early twenties angst. Eventually, I had a pivotal conversation with a nurse and experienced a little spark of knowing that provided the confidence to follow a path wholeheartedly. I followed an ideal in nursing and landed in a passion in aesthetics.

Balancing a career with raising three daughters has also been one of my greatest challenges and greatest blessings. Like many working parents, I’ve had to learn that success isn’t about doing everything perfectly. It’s about being intentional with the time and energy you have.

My biggest struggles have involved doubting myself and assuming other people know better than I do. If you feel these creeping in, observe and question those thoughts. They are probably not rooted in fact.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I work as a nurse practitioner in aesthetic medicine. I am known for conservative treatments and natural results.

Over the years I’ve learned that aesthetics isn’t really about changing how someone looks. It’s about helping people look like the healthiest, most rested version of themselves. My approach has always been conservative and individualized. I believe the best cosmetic work is the kind no one notices—people simply tell you that you look refreshed.

Like many healthcare professionals, my career has evolved alongside raising a family. Becoming a wife and mother gave me an entirely different perspective on confidence, aging, and self-care. I’ve also come to appreciate how important it is to treat people as whole individuals rather than focusing on procedures alone.

Today I’m grateful to care for patients throughout Central Texas, and I continue to pursue advanced training because aesthetic medicine is always evolving. More than anything, I hope every patient leaves feeling heard, educated, and confident that their treatment plan was created specifically for them—not based on trends or sales goals.

As my career continues to evolve, my goal is simple: build a practice known for honesty, precision, and relationships that last for years.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories was at my very first concert: Brooks and Dunn at the San Antonio Rodeo. I was probably five years old. I was lucky to be one of those who got a high five at the end of the show. I remember the exhilaration and pride I felt at that moment.
