Hi Zendy, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi! I’m Zendy ✨
I’m 30 years old, married to my amazing husband, and a proud stepmom to two beautiful kiddos 🩵 I’m a pretty simple person who loves family time, cozy moments, and getting completely lost in a good book.
Reading became such an important part of my life, and when I started getting back into books, I realized how much joy and comfort they brought me. I also wanted something more, a community here in Vegas where people could come together, talk about books, make friends, and just enjoy sharing their love of reading 📚✨
Honestly, I never imagined that passion would grow into running a local Vegas book club! It’s been such an amazing experience connecting with other readers and building a welcoming space for book lovers. Watching this little community grow has been one of the most rewarding things ever 💫
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Of course, there have been times where I struggled. There were moments where I questioned myself and wondered if I was even a good leader. Starting a book club wasn’t always easy, especially because this community means so much to me personally.
One of the biggest challenges was finding people who would truly appreciate the club the same way I did people who genuinely love books, connection, and creating a positive space together 📚✨ I really wanted to build a community filled with kind, like-minded people who could bond over their shared love of reading.
It definitely took time, patience, and a lot of self-growth, but seeing the friendships, conversations, and support that have come from this book club makes every challenge worth it 🩵
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Right now, I’m a stay at home mom to my amazing stepkids, and I love taking care of my husband and making sure my family is happy 🩵 Honestly, a lot of my time is spent pouring love into my home and the things I’m passionate about
Along with running my local Vegas book club, I also recently started a small business creating banners for events. It’s still growing and moving a little slow right now, but I’m really excited for what’s to come and can’t wait to see it fully take off ✨
I also run a Bookstagram where I share book reviews, connect with other readers, and talk about all things books 📚 Reading has truly become such a huge part of my life, and creating these spaces and communities around books has been incredibly fulfilling for me.
Between family life, book club, my small business, and my Bookstagram, I definitely stay busy, but I genuinely love filling my time with things that bring me joy and creativity 💫
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I think finding a mentor can be really helpful, but I also believe it’s just as important to find people you genuinely admire and learn from along the way ✨ It can definitely help with networking, but honestly I feel like networking is also about having a little faith in yourself and putting yourself out there. A lot of it comes down to finding that courage within you and showing up anyway.
I also believe you can be your own mentor in a way, learning yourself, trusting yourself, and growing as you go. I don’t really have a formal mentor, I just try to stay grounded in self belief and keep pushing forward with confidence in my own path 💫
